Things that Shimmer

strolled along the street on a cool, crisp autumn morning,

surrounded by trees whose canopy stretched over the road like a victory arch,

shining in the sun with the bright colors of red, orange, green, and gold.

As I was lost in thought, the breeze picked up and I was suddenly caught up

in a shower of shimmering leaves, floating to the ground all around me.

I lingered there, lifting my hands and eyes to the sky, relishing the moment.

A confetti drop from God, just for me.
